From an email circulated by Charles Robinson:
Bill Studdiford has emailed me the following information (which I had in briefer form from Maureen Crisp) and wanted it sent to Byronists.

Sad news from her daughter:
Megan Boyes, author and great admirer of Lord Byron, died on Saturday, May 25, at the Threen House Nursing Home in Ealing, London, England.
She had been suffering from cancer and passed away peacefully after a few days in bed with a chest infection. Up until then she had still been enjoying life. Even though she had been in that nursing home for just over a month, she was already popular with the staff, who were very kind to her - which made her last few weeks easier.
The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. on June 17 at Mortlake Crematorium, Kew Meadow Path, Townmead Road, Richmond TW9 4EN, England Tel: 020-8876-8056 email:
info@mortlakecrematorium.org - delayed until her grandson could get back from Germany. Her daughter, Vivien, can be reached at
info@vivienboyes.co.uk
Megan's first book, "Queen of a Fantastic Realm", was a biography of May Chaworth, published in 1986. In 1988, "Love Without Wings", a biography of Elizabeth Pigot, was published. These were followed by her biography of Byron's mother Mrs Catherine Gordon Byron, "My Amiable Mamma", in 1991.
But wherefore weep? Her matchless spirit soars
Beyond where splendid shines the orb of day
(from BYRON's first poem)
We're sure many American Byron Society members have met Megan and should be given this sad news.
