I watched its trailer - since I am in Istanbul we do not have an access to BBC4 but BBCprime - and I thought that Matthew Rhys tries so hard to pose as a "mad, bad and dangerous to know" so it becomes very cliché at times. Bad choice of an actor to play Byron - just like the actor who plays Shelley in BBC's Byron. It WAS terrible.

Great to hear from somebody who has seen Matthew Rhys as Byron! I realise that Rhys could only do his best with the material he was given but I DO wonder if he researched anything about his subject before he gave his performance?? :roll:
