Dear All,

Searching the Web for pictures of Teresa Makri, it is noticeable that, other than an extraordinary photograph of an old lady in her seventies, all the rest seem to be 'Conjectural Reconstructions', based on the poem! The TSITOURAS Collection, housed in a Greek Hotel, claims to have an original portrait but features pictures of almost everything else. Can anyone help?

I am also mystified by a peculiar offering featured in "YAHOO ANSWERS" on the lady, which I feel should be corrected by someone more expert than I.

Dear B.M.

Where did you read that Tsitouras has an original prortrait of Tereza? If you are able to give me the information, I could do a bit of research - although I am afraid that the portrait is what we have already seen.

A.

P.S.: Having met with the grand-grand daughter of Tereza, I guess that the "conjectural reconstructions" are pretty accurate!

Dear Andreas,

"The Tsitouras Collection, Island of Santorini- House of Portraits

Dominating the Living Room under its barrel-vaulted ceiling is a 19th Century portrait of Teresa Makri".

There is a photograph of a Room and a portrait, definitely not in black and white, but the photograph is of the room and not the portrait and, of course, it might not be THAT portrait at all!

Dear Boatswain's Mate

You didn't answer my answer, I am afraid. If you tell me were do you have that information (from the official catalogue, by personal account etc.) I may contact Mr Tsitouras himself - otherwise, there will be delay.

A.
