Although I am not sure I totally agree with his view, I personaly think that Macuga's painting is really brilliant! What a pity, we don't have information about the rest of the exhibition...

I bumped into a portrait of byron at tate britain on saturday, but it is not mentioned on the website.

I think byron would be well dressed, and shaven, i have noticed, a nice hot bath helps soften the skin for shaving, and he rather liked to strike a pose.

Well dressed...hell yes! the man was picky to a fault about appearances, particularly his own. for the rest, I don't know...but I don't think that he could ever be as famous now as he was in his own lifetime. What i mean is that I doubt he'd have the same impact on the popular imagination --- we have so many celebrities nowadays, but in his own time, he was almost one of a kind!

He'd be on the tabloids' covers and self-promoting "serious" papers" on a daily regular basis,not to mention telly and World Wide Web -
